I also complied the entire checklist into a PDF document that can be printed out into a nice book
Yes, I have printed out your compilation of Jim's checklist and it makes for a very nice option and much more space efficient than the original checklist which does offer some additional details which is in its favor. Still considering some options for binding the checklist which I printed to acid free paper as I expect to be using it for quite a while.
I have now, also, been able to download a series of Excel based lists and put them on my iPhone using the Excel app that Microsoft offers for the iPhone and iPad. It is proving useful for having access to exactly what I have/need for my collection when I don't have the stamp albums with me. Of course, now I have to actually inventory all collections especially the International based one not just the country specific collections that I have for USA, Canada, Great Britain, and France. So far I am trying to inventory using Dilip Limaye's spreadsheet version of the checklist but it is going to take a LONG time to complete with two collections where one has 8,900 stamps in an International I and the other has 15,000 stamps in International I through V but mostly mint (although lately more used stamps are sneaking into that album as I have been buying some small country collections covering the same periods and combining them into the master album set).
I have also been considering EzStamp which has a full Scott number checklist and pictures for the world and even an add-on for stamp recognition search of your scanned image input against an up to world-wide database of images. It gets pretty expensive once options for grading, scanning, and stamp recognition search plus the world are added but at the same time offers an unequaled set of capabilities as compared to anything else I have heard of to date.
I did give up on the standard software that came with my Canon LIDE 120 scanner and purchased the basic version of Hamrick Software's VUEScan software which another posting on the Stamporama site had recommended for scanning. It makes everything so much easier and the scans now have detail levels equivalent to the capabilities of the scanner so are MUCH clearer.
Chris,
Is your booklet just the printed excel file in a spiral notebook? I am curious what a sample page looks like?
BTW, how did you do the cover and binding?
Is there a direct link to the actual excel file(s)?
Chris's file is a PDF document with the checklist setup in a three column layout to decrease the page count. There is a separate Excel file available from Dilip Limaye. It is readily available from the web site.
Do you have links? The blog is not easy to search.

Thanks and I made the url's clickable.
Thanks everyone. Check out my Excel BigBlue inventory file too. Unlike Dilip Limaye's Excel inventory, mine is designed as a country-level inventory...more of a "collection status" than an individual stamp inventory
Dilip Limaye has completed his project to produce an Excel spreadsheet version of Jim Jackson's Big Blue Checklist for 1840-1940. He just completed and made the USA list available as well. Kudos to Dilip and Jim for their work on these checklist documents!
