Wowza !
Way to go Michael!!!
WOW!!! I was searching to see if the project was still accepting donations when I found THIS! Now THAT's a TEXAS sized donation! What generosity!
In several previous postings I have expressed appreciation and thanks to members of SOR who have so generously supported the efforts of the HSP to amass 11,000,000 cancelled stamps to symbolically honor the lives of as many Holocaust victims. It's an incomprehensible number that needs to be seen to be understood at all.
While there's so much more than just counting donated stamps in this unusual educational initiative at the K-12 Foxborough Regional Charter School (Foxboro, MA)--- including the teaching and team-learning of history, tolerance, acceptance, respect for differences---
it is no small matter when one donor pushes the total up in-a-hurry by donating 113,356 all at once!
Thank you, Michael Generali of SOR! (The kids could hardly believe the postage it took to get your box delivered from Texas) The one-by-one counting of your stamps kept my octogenarian and nonagenarian Mom and Dad busy for 6 to 8 weeks!
When school resumes next month, Michael's donated stamps, and tens of thousands more received over the summer (many still waiting to be being processed by volunteers), will be added to the 10,350,270 total from mid-June.
The goal set nine years ago will be a reality very soon!
