Hi..no catelog value? I'm not sure I understand. Does it mean that the catelog doesn't have used price in there yet for 20b? And what would be the value then? Thank you.Image Not Found

re: Mongolia 20b - used, unlisted, rare?

Probably because there are too many counterfeits of this issue to determine how many genuine stamps are out there from which a value can be made.

With the note from Scott that counterfeits "abound", you will need to get this one expertized. Often counterfeiters will add a cancel to conceal defects in their work.

May I ask why in most of your posts you seem to be more interested in the value of the items? Most collectors are more concerned with collecting the stamp.

re: Mongolia 20b - used, unlisted, rare?

Thank you..to answer your question. Because I would like to finally start certifying them and have some prize possessions to hand down to my children one day. Anything worth it..say 500 and up. I have collected all my life "just to collect because they were unique or pretty" not really knowing of their worth and now that I have my kids (3 and 1.5 years old) I view this a whole different way..

Oh...and you bet your bottom dollar, if I EVER run into a positively life changing stamp, that stamp will be on the market before I can blink..Happy..everyone secretly wants to find that rare positively life changing find..but if I am comfortably stable with a Great future for my little ones..you bet ur bottom dollar I will start to collect those life changing ones as well.

The SG catalogue only lists the black and violet overprints.

It describes all the blue overprints and most of the red overprints as forgeries.

It notes that all stamps with red overprints found so far on cover have been found to be forgeries.

My Scott catalog lists 20b as Red overprint. Yours appears to be Black which is listed as 20a with value of $65.00. As no one else has pointed that out I'm confused of what is being talked about here.

Is not the overprint red and the cancellation black?
