Like many people, I started this hobby young, had a 40 year gap while I did a bit of work and returned to it recently, collecting mainly Victorian GB stamps.
My other interest is developing some stamp analysis software for a PC. This is nearing completion but so far it does the following:-
• Take measurements to show the centering, aspect ratio, perforations, margin size
• Color analysis, nearest named colors, color spectrum
• An examination of the perforations
• A magnifying glass
• A ‘splitter’ to take individual stamps off a cover image and examine these
• A stamp ‘comparer’, making one stamp transparent to overlay on another to identify differences
• A change function to look at an image in several different ways (sharpen, b&w etc.)
• Filters to look at the stamp in different colors and to change certain colors (highlight the postmark)
• An experimental area which picks out parts of a stamp and tries to identify them (denomination, words, crosses etc.)
So what I’m looking for is some people who know about stamps and are good at using a PC. I’m hoping that one or more people will be able to help test the software. If it sounds interesting, have a look at:

the website is faulty ... email does work, nor download

I cant find a problem with the email links...
The software doesnt download until you get a userID and password from me. This is to ensure that it has been tested properly/thoroughly.

Hello Al,
It seems a fine idea to me, and I look forward to the release of the finished product.
Currently I am building a stamp collection database, which will output various reports and digital stamp album pages, showing the user's actual stamps in formats similar to Steiner pages, etc. Much work still to be done, but the most important part, the album page arranging of stamps and page formatting is nearing completion.
If I were to use your program, I would write a subroutine to import the stamp analysis data into the database for each stamp in my inventory, and include that data in any number of reports.
I would be very happy to give your application a test drive, and report my experience to you. If interested, just message me with the SOR member message feature.

Your software does look interesting, so I would be keen to give it a try, but there is no mention on the web site as to what platforms it runs on.
I assume from the "about" page that it will eventually be a commercial product which is fair enough, a pity however that you succumbed to non-international English. With 67 countries having English as a primary language, I expect that a majority of the world's English speakers spell colour correctly.
