The "split" of the catalogs that Scott has done makes no change to the countries contained in each volume. It only breaks each single catalog into two for easier handling. For example, Volume 3 of the Scott catalogs is now Volume 3A and 3B, but the two parts contain the same countries as the formerly combined Volume 3, G through I countries.
Michael i will leave them to the stamp dealers...i wonder if it will affect sales to libraries ?
The composition of the catalogs is not what has driven off the library business from Scott. It is the price.
I bought a set in 2017 and now regret it. I can barely lift them to use them and unless I have a large batch of stamps from one country, I am constantly taking them out and putting them away. In addition,, one of them has already split on the binder. It is a lot of money but I gave serious thought to buying the 2018s but finally talked myself out of it. I will wait for the 2019's. Splitting was a great idea. I work part time as a dealer and I have never regretted buying new catalogs. Price increases have usually taken care of the cost but I know that does not work for non-dealers.

I think i purchased my workhorse 6 2012 scott catalogs for $195 a year old in 2013. I wonder if i shall ever purchase another complete set (2017 ?) For a worldwide collector like myself the splitting of the catalogs makes it complicated. Any catalogs i purchase in the future will probably pertain to the countries that i seriously collect.
