This is the one in my collection. Nice selvedge, eh?
It would be interesting to know more about this stamp. It's hard to imagine that it was issued and used in France during the German occupation. Anyone?
Bob
Indeed, nice selvedge. The selvedge to the right is an even bigger piece as the roulette does not extend into the right selvedge. The printer name/location (Imbert/Algiers) is also on that piece.
Stamp is not bad, either. It has a pretty decent premium as cinderellas go.
Issue in November of 1943 by the French Committee of National Liberation to raise funds for the resistance.
These is a really striking design.
Just as well given the huge charity surcharge!
The stamp is listed as French Colonies SG 87 / Scott #B1.
Thanks Bob, Yours is bigger than mine
Into my cinderella collection !
