Hi - Came across this when sorting through a bunch of stamps.
Can anyone shed light on what this is? Stamp or cinderella?
I found the design attractive and noticed the strange perforations.
Seems to have one overprint (centre) and three cancellations (round).
Thanks for any input.

re: Identity unkown

It is a Japanese Revenue stamp, My Japanese Revenue catalog is almost completely in Japanese which I only know a tiny bit of, but it appears to be from the "Free Official Cash Mailer (1901 - 1948)" series, I'm guessing PC 3 from 1910 - the stamps can vary depending on the red overprinted character in the middle and the shape of the perfins.

Thanks Josh - that cleared that little problem for me. I tried looking at other Japanese stamps to see if I could recognize any characters, but failed miserably.
I was wondering about the perforations - rather unusual, any ideas why they did it like this?

re: Identity unkown

Looks very similar to the band on a pack of cards so maybe went around the edge of a package to guarantee that it was complete.

Similar perforations were used on labels attached to registered envelopes containing cash. It is thought that these may be an anti-tamper feature; in that were they to be pulled off the envelope, they would tear.
