But they say you can never have too much of a good thing, Phil!
I don't know if it's true, but you've got me feelin' plumb sorry for ya, though!

So, now its out in the open at last !
What Phil says is really true. I'm also in that situation.
I understand your thinking Phil, but...
I cut out the buying of any large lots because I have so much stuff to organize and mount. I'll get to it when I retire. I have been retired over two years now, still haven't got around to cutting out those Linn's articles yet for my files. It's only a 2 1/2 foot tall pile.
WB is right, you can never have too much of a good thing. That's why I will have a luggage rack on top of the hearse that hauls me to the cemetery, I plan on taking it with me. Maybe I'll get time to work on it then.

You'll never get to far if you don't deal with stuff when you first get it. ORGANIZE!!!
I know Ra, i know !
I love to buy a good lot of stamps or covers! Since I now have my four main collections pretty much organized, it's easy to see if something can be added to those books.
For me the fun of stamp collecting isn't in the possession of the material, it's more the thrill of the hunt!
I'm pretty good at pulling out what I do need and adding them to my collections. It's the remainders that are piling up. Still, I'll always hit that "BID NOW" button without hesitation!
I believe for me the train has left the station...for so many years i dreamed of "The Find" walking into a room full of stamps and saying "how much for the whole lot?" It never happened. So now i content myself with purhasing covers that appeal to me and filling spaces in my worldwide albums from the Stamporama auctions.
Hey! I feel your pain. Images are of an estate sale, that I missed out on. I did purchase a couple albums, but all the remainder was sold to another antique dealer after the sale ended. I contacted him and asked what he wanted for the entire collection and he told me that he had not even taken the "mess" out of his van, but would let me know. Waited a few weeks and contacted him again. Told me, sorry, but that he had already sold all to some dealer in New York, but wished he had called me back as it cost him more to ship the collection that what he received in payment.
Oh my! That would have been quite an investment of time to go through all those - how fun!
Until Very recently i looked forward to viewing stamps for sale at a estate sale or auction, then out of a clear blue sky i said"whoa what am i doing?" I have remainder albums, stock books, plastic tubs of stamps..why would i want more of the same,to break down and sell to someone else ? For me its time to put an end to purchasing accumulations and work on what i already have...its amazing how i find stamps i can use myself as i sort through what i already have. Reality has struck at last !
