Well that is a very impressive display. Thanks for posting for everyone to see.
I am wondering - are these actual pages or a virtual presentation? The black background really sets off the stamps nicely. If they are virtual pages, do you scan all your stamps?
However you have done these, they are great. I like all the details and the format. Just Wow!
Thanks for the comment Sally. It is a virtual presentation; The black background is an excel page with a black background and I then inserted my collection from my Google Drive Album (took quite some time scanning the stamps in their proper shade to put into Google Drive).
My actual album has clear pages that can be seen back and front, it's impossible to scan from these pages as the light from the scanner is reflected off the pages causing a large blur on the page.
I thought black would be the better choice as it does bring out the finer detail of each stamp, and the stamps are the proper size format.
Eventually I will make a similar display of my King George V collection.
Very nice Rob, i like the way you displayed the 1937-1940 blue 3p stamps..do you find them easy to identify ?
Beautiful stamps! And the presentation with the black background is top notch.

Thanks Phil

Hi jbaxter5256
I've added more since then, I will upload the updated collection soon.
Rob
The very dull blue 1949 £1 was printed from the original die of John Ash, any printing would have the John Ash imprint, McCracken altered the shade to a deeper blue and as thick paper does not absorb as much ink as thin paper, the result is a beautifully defined dark blue, bringing out the delicate craftsmanship of the engraving in very fine detail.
Soon after in the same year, the ‘Ash’ imprint was replaced with the impersonal ‘By Authority’. McCracken’s reason to do away with personalised imprints is to allow future printers access to the dies without making newer ones with their personal imprints; this also saved many dollars for the Postmaster-General’s Department.
The impersonal imprint was unpopular with philatelists as it done away with an important part of the stamps history, not to mention future value.
The ‘Robes’ is a very comprehensive collection and a project still in progress.
This collection is rare, all are mint unhinged, I hope you like the display.
