Why do you assume that only dealers are bidding on the stamp?
How do you reckon that it is dealers bidding? all I can see are a few bids and top bid is only $67.15 which is barely 12% of catalogue.
Wonder who has the snipe bid?
That seller name was making my spidey senses go off. Good to know they are confirmed.
Why do you assume that only dealers are bidding on the stamp?
With the top three bidders having sales of 2653, 2818, and 4002, I think my assumption was pretty logical.
The seller name sounded familiar so I did a search elsewhere. Caveat emptor. The selling account is part of the "British Cartel." Research the cartel at SCF and make up your own mind.
I am on their "No bid accepted" list.
Near perfect centering? We must be looking at different stamps
Near perfect centering. I do not stand corrected.
Wonder who has the snipe bid?
It will be interesting if they ALL have one.
'2653' took it to $213, but lost to a newbie (13) who won with a bid of $446 !!!
Here is the winning bidders details.

and this is the bidding war including automatic bids.

Personally the last bid stinks, but that's merely my opinion.
The newbie took the prize with a 6 second snipe.
If indeed the rest of the bidders are dealers, they are not smart dealers to be in a bidding war. The newbie was the smart one. ONE bid, no time for the others to react.
The newbie was the smart one
Rich, maybe. Smart ... I'm not so sure.
Oy.
"This exceptional stamp...
It's mint/never hinged, with near perfect centering..."

I would have never paid $446.00 for that stamp.
If I didn't know any better, I would think that you were the seller looking to plug the listing.
I'm glad that you knew better.
Had I been interested in bidding on that stamp, I would have known that it was offered by the British Cartel, since I'm on their list and my bid would have been automatically rejected.
My interest was only in how the bidding played out.

This exceptional stamp has three dealers duking it out on EBay, so far offering about 50% of catalog value, with less then 2 hours to go.
It's mint/never hinged, with near perfect centering, and I'm guessing that they want to offer it at an auction house for a very healthy premium.
