I started to put up a couple of hundred MNH Germany ranging from earlies to 60's Semi-postal sets.

The gum seems a bit shinier than other countries 0 is this normal? A few I can tell are almost certainly glazed gum from the old mounts - but even the ones with nice thin gum that don't appear glazed just seem overly shiny.

Would appreciate any help here as I do not want to put up anything with damaged gum (some of the NH add-ons are impressive)...

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Will probably not log back in until tomorrow morning but wanted to get start on tomorrow's work...

re: Gum

Sounds normal to me for those stamps. If you run across one that looks like it has damaged gum, compare it to one that is known to be good.

re: Gum

Thanks - just needed a baseline to work from. Have a 102 box full of mint hinged which likely aren't glazed to compare to but needed to establish a comfort level. I have two bankers boxes of stuff to go to the APS so far and looking at shipping costs it looks like perhaps a mini vacation down to Pennsylvania this spring is in order.

We are also involved in the Antique Automobile Club of America which has headquarters and a museum in Hershey so it would be a nice change of pace for a week or so..
