Hi all,
I have 2 of each of these stamps one on a very white background and one one an off white (cream) background.

The 2452 is listed as 2452 and 2452B. I could not find anything for 2225 background color difference. What am I missing here?

This is my list. Paper changes have been known but not always listed. Scott apparently does not list any.

2452a 5c Circus wagon engraved, untagged, dull gum
2452a 5c Circus wagon engr, untagged, low gloss gum
2452B 5c Circus wagon photogravure, untagged
2452Bf 5c Circus wagon photo, luminescent ink

re: USA 2225 and 2452

Is there any type of list like that the one angore shows for the 2225?

Scott 2225, the 1 cent Omnibus has several varieties.
2225 Large Block tagging, dull gum
2225a Prephosphored paper (mottled tag), shiny gum
2225b Untagged, dull, shiny, or low gloss gum.

A tagging can make the paper appear a different color even though it is supposed to be invisible, especially if it has been handled and dirt has rubbed off on the tagging.

Another thing to make sure of is that 2225 and 1897 look very similar. Look at the denomination for the difference.
