"Little different from a Turkish bazaar I once visited in Izmir ..."
That's where I learned my bargaining skills... as a wee lad buying fruit and vegetables at Turkish markets in Izmir! I had learned just enough Turkish to accomplish this task, I still remember all my numbers! Part of that dance was that EVERYTHING was negotiable and the sellers had no respect for those who paid the marked price. There was always a discount to be had.
And that skill has taken me far in my adult life!

Anglophile, attendance was good...it was certainly not packed..you could get a spot at a table without a wait. Some of the dealers i am familiar with from previous years were not there..you look forward to seeing certain ones and miss them if they are not there.There were two supply dealers in attendance and i am surprised they were not competitive...there was like a 25 percent spread in their prices...a considerable amount if you are buying stockpages etc.

Yesterday i was in MY element with many boxes of covers to search through...the dealer tables were not that far apart so i could not help overhearing the discussion at the next table. First a figure of $1500 is mentioned...response is loud almost hilarious laughter ! The dealer and prospective buyer stay put...they evidently know one another as conversation...mainly by the salesman of course goes on...i know they were together for at least an hour..Presently the main table owner leaves and his partner appears and the conversation continues...the possible buyer must have some interest. Later in the afternoon one of the dealers says $500 is the least i could take for it or i send it to Hong Kong. I do not know the end result..but evidently this is the dance when you are spending 3 or 4 figures for an item.
