HEY MIKE, you moron, you forgot to load the clue!!!!!! DUH
Hey Mike, you moron! You forg----
....oh.....you already saw that....
Sorry.
LOL
(Just teasin', Mike!)
Thanks for that wake up call Randy, but someone beat you to the punch.
Now try to make a winning guess.
Mike
Already been almost 15 hours since the first clue was shown and not one single, teency weency little question or guess. Maybe some are still asleep, so at NOON, EDT, there may been another clue shown.
Another verbal clue, this is not a stamp from the USA!
Mike
OK, a little late, but my wonderful computer decided to lock up on me so I had to reboot.
Here's the long awaited clue #2.
Good luck with that one!
Mike
Could it be from Brazil or Portugal?
Is it from Portugal Azores?
Doug
If the preceding letter is a 'C,' it might be Cacoes (How do you print a c with cedilla and an o with a tilde here?) - that's in Brasil. At any rate, it's a Portuguese word.
I am not sure, but I believe the word is RELAÇÕES meaning relations. It likely signifies the relations between two countries.
WOW, sorry for being away for such a long time, but ......
That clue certainly sparked the interest is Portuguese speaking countries, didn't it? Unfortunately the correct country was not picked, nor were there any relations involved. "What the heck does that mean, Mike?" Well, basically it means all of those guesses were wrong and we need to put another clue up to help enlighten these great thinkers.
OH Mike, you're a mean old man, there's not much of a clue there.
Good luck with that!
Mike
A stamp from Canada perhaps Jacques Cartier the explorer???
Mike
I think that last clue is filled with hot air. LOL
Guinea Bissau 1983
Congratulations Stephen, you are absolutely spot on! And I am amazing thing is the second clue was mostly about the cancellation. Good job, thanks for playing along. I'll get your prize in the mail tomorrow since I'm sure the mail lady has been here already today. Besides we are experiencing liquid sunshine and I don't want to melt.
D1stamper, you were right also!
Mike
Thanks Mike. I did have a bit of fun looking at different souvenir sheets. It was bit like playing "Where's Wally" or its US equivalent, "Where's Waldo". The other posters were very helpful, particularly the "hot air" reference from D1Stamper that pointed to a hot air balloon. Cheers.
Stephen
OK Mike... I got it.... the name of the picture is one flew over the cuckoos nest.
What do i win...
Better late than never bob
NO, NO, Bob, it's better never than late, especially during the WFMSQ. But as a consolation we will allow you to wear the shirt you bought a couple of months ago, every 5th Tuesday in February. Next time try to be on time and with the correct answer....
Mike
AAAHHA, gotcha! It's another World Famous Mystery Stamp Quiz. Once again, it has been quite a while since we had one, so let's see if we can have some more fun with this one.
For all of the new people here on SOR the rules are very simple. Identify the stamp from the clues supplied and you will win a great prize. You may ask any questions, but that doesn't mean they will be answered. LOL All visible clues are in the correct orientation and should all be the same size, hopefully large enough for our myopic members, but if not just give a holler and they can be enlarged, maybe just a wee bit. This stamp was cataloged using the Scott's catalog's, but if you don't use Scott's just tell us the subject and the year, or other pertinent information that will definitely identify the stamp in question. ALSO, you must be the first to identify it to be the winner of the prize.
The first written clue is; this offering is a souvenir sheet, which you will figure out since some of the visual clues will show perfs.
Since I don't have any items for sale in the auction currently, I have chosen a very nice S/S from the Faroe Islands as the prize. Hey, what a coincedentalment. There is also a clue about the mystery stamp on the prize, just for another hint.
Below is the prize
Good luck to one and all!
