No, and for two reasons:
1 - The bottom left of the cross cancel should be on the envelope. Too much of it is missing. However, it is possible that the cancelling device could have been held with pressure to the right, thus the cancel would miss the envelope.
2 - The right side of the stamp overhangs the envelope. I would expect the right edge of the stamp to be damaged from having gone through the postal system, and from handling ever since. It appears to be completely fault free with no nicks or ceases or little tears.
Also, what is to the left of the stamp? It appears to be black blotches. The extreme left of this area shows a straight line outline at the left and bottom. Was this from a stamp that was removed or fell off the cover?
That's my opinion. I could be wrong, but I would be suspicious of this cover.

i'm with Micheal...... what at first appears to be a faint continueation of the maltese cross to the left of the stamp now appears to be part of the indistinct blobs. pretty stamp, though

I agree with David and Michael, not tied.
Funny that I was looking through some of my scans last night and thought you might like this cover. It is a mourning cover so that it may appear the stamp over hangs but it doesn't, and it is tied. I picked it up for my mourning cover collection but I think it would be happier in your "EJ" collection. Send me your mailing address and I'll get it to you. No charge.

i couldn't find the original post, and it's not GB, but it's in the same vein. I received Richard Pauls PNCs, mint and on cover, yesterday. It was the same kind of transaction that Vinman and Ernie are doing. Richard, thank you so much.

They may be just messages on the DB, but messages like these make me proud to be an stamp collector and a member of such selected group of people, I always thought of stamp collectors as been a notch above regular people and actions like these just prove the camaraderie that exist among us. Without knowing any one personally I have a great respect for
everyone in stamporama and Vince's action just solidifies my believes.

I have received quite a few freebies from other members here. I like to have fun with this hobby. Just look at what David (Lemaven) does. All these contests that other members have that just are for passing on material we have but don't have a need for it in our collections. I read Ernie's posts about his penny reds and blacks. It just so happened I was looking at some of scans of my collection that I noticed the penny red and was surprised to see the initials "EJ". What are the odds. I picked up that cover because it was a foreign mourning cover, not the stamp. I still haven't organized or mounted those covers yet so I won't miss it. I was going to tease Ernie with it for awhile first but that would only be fun for me. I'm happy to help out another collector when I can.
Here is another example of the generosity of this club. Melvin (mbo1142), saw my post a few days ago of my exhibition labels and asked for my address so he could send some labels he had because he don't collect them.
