I have tried to use removable tape and other forms of tape. I don't recommend it. You can get plastic stick-on corners to hold covers in place on a page, or you can get special-made pages to hold covers, or even a cover album, which has slots for covers in each page.
For my specialized collections I prefer to mount each cover on a page using corner mounts and slip it into a page protector.
This was a practice page but you get what I mean.
i buy clear plastic sleeves in which I insert my covers; these go in binders; i add print outs of articles that refer to the cover (or addressee or sender or....) and insert after the page. When there's nothing of particular interest on the reverse, I mount covers back to back, doubling my mounting investment.
for most things, i've used manila folders as organizers; i'm slowly changing to the above, though
No, no, no! Don't use adhesive tape of any kind, not even "removable" tape, which inevitably leaves behind residue when it's removed.
You even have to be careful of self-adhesive corner mounts; a couple of times I've had the adhesive "bleed" from under the mount and stick to the cover. Once I accidentally slipped a cover under a corner mount and had a heck of a time removing and then removing the adhesive with lighter fluid. Of course, if you're ever planning to exhibit or design your own album pages, you'll have to use corner mounts. I've never found any other useful alternative.
For storage and display in binders, I used Lighthouse Vario or Hagner stock sheets. Here's an example:
This type of stock sheet holds four covers (two per side); versions with three pockets per side work nicely for small covers and souvenir sheets. There's usually enough room to insert a sheet of paper behind the cover with a write-up on it. Lighthouse also makes a version for #10 business size envelopes as well as an album for them.

I use the same style clear two pocket pages as Phil. I bought a lot of 5 boxes (500 pages) on eBay for about $70. The pockets are 5.5x7 so I take white 110 lb card stock and cut it down to two of these from each 8.5 x 11 sheet. That gives the clear sheets some stiffness and you can't see through the stack. And the covers and stamps stay pretty much in place without mounts.
I intend to mount my George Washington Bicentennial cover collection soon, and will have a printed write up for each cover.
I am a big fan of pocket pages, interleaves & binders, myself.

I recently purchased a lot of covers with the thought of augmenting my Washington Franklin stamp collection.
I am interested in suggestions of how to mount them. Would the use of double sided removable tape on pages describing information be appropriate. I thought the pages could be placed in plastic protectors and then into a 3 ring binder.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.
