Thankyou There was an index which was a great resource...Thankyou so much
Ralph's CD Catalogues are very comprehensive. I have 3 of them including the British 'Locals' one. I hasten to add that I would term many of those included as completely Bogus but each to their own.
I have known Ralph for some years and we usually meet at local shows here in Israel. I remember him showing me draft copies (printed versions) of 2 of his catalogues during a get-together at 'Israel 2008' and being very impressed. I wanted to take them home but couldn't persuade him !!

Thankyou...Do you know if the UK Railway local posts in use in 2016? I see most that are listed on this site are in Wales and Scotland ...so just wondering
"... Do you know ..."
Go to
www.philately.cyng.org.uk/index
and click on the links for modern railway letter posts.
Most of the railway preservation movement's lines sell "stamps", and also rail carried covers. Note that while these are legal, and carried under the official rail letter regulations, there is no commercial purpose, and in effect are souvenirs.
However they are sold in aid of a good cause, to fund the preservation and operation of charitable steam railways.
Those interested in railways might like to link to the railways mentioned in the above website and feast your senses on "real" trains - none of this Johnny-come-lately diesel or electric "pretend" trains.

Thankyou !!
What a great link, Malcolm197

I have a modest collection of local posts and only a few from the UK Is there a list of UK local posts?
I have a few examples and most were used by those visiting the many islands off England , Scotland and so on...and of course collectors..I am also wondering if any are active today.
