Scott lists it as "Tannu Tuva (Tuva People's Republic)" Gibbons lists it as "Tuva". They are one in the same. I would say to just keep it as it is, "Tannu Tuva".
Hi
I have found on eBay these stamps listed under both names. While I have just started collecting Tannu Tuva,Tanna Tuva, Tuva, both Scott's and Gibbons are very light on information.
There is a footnote in Scott's ,that further information on one particular set is available in Scott's Classic Specialized Catalogue for Sc #71/92.
Would any one of our members be able to help me out with this?please as I only have their standard catalogue.
Thanks Brian
The major numbers are for perf 14, and the minor numbers are for perf 11. The Scott Classic also gives values for never hinged, postal cancels and on cover.
Well, we're talking about Scott, so it's not all that easy:
PERF 14 SET: 71, 72, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 92
PERF 11 SET: 72a, 73, 74a, 75a, 76a, 78a, 80a, 81a, 82a, 84a, 85a, 86a, 87a, 88a, 89b, 90a, 91
The numbers above are correct. #89a is a perf 14 rose red color error, not valued.
Scott lists the set value to include all 37 stamps (both perfs). It doesn't separate set values for the perf 14 and perf 11 sets. Like I said, we're talking about Scott here.
SG listing for 2015
For a little overkill, the Russian Tuva specialized shows which stamps are perf 11 or 14
Michel specialized is similar
Brian (Snowy12) pointed out to me that we don't have Tanna Tuva in the list of countries in the Auction. We however do have Tannu Tuva. On Googling both these country names I found quite a bit on each. Wikipedia talks about both. I can't find anything that says it should be one or the other. Article written from a more Mongolian perspective use the term Tanna Tuva and articles written from the Russian perspective seem to use Tannu Tuva.
Can any of our Russian collectors give some more perspective on this? And should we include both in the list of Countries for the Auction?
Regards ... Tim.
