This is the reverse side of the Dutch Indies cover.
Very nice, Phil!!!
I knew as the the NY 2016 show kicked off, there was going to be some great stuff showing up. You got it started in fine fashion.
Congrats!! Great cover!!!

VERY nice find. You hit a good one! Congrats
Thanks ! All the dealers have Dutch Indies covers...but their prices are all over the map ..i would rather pay 20 bucks than 85 !
No kidding! I went to one show where I found 2 covers I liked. One cost $5 and the other was ... well ... a lot more! Lol
I hesitated on that one but I just couldn't resist.
Nice cover, Phil. Dutch Indies AND Australia -- that's an interesting pairing.

Gee Poodle Mum...i think i know exactly how you feel...i love stamps and covers..but i have a built in braking system that only lets me go so far..its a shame it would not kill me to spend more !
Bobstew...theres so much postal history of flights between Holland, the Dutch Indies and Australia.
Hey Phil, here's one of your cover's cousins available now on eBay:

That's really interesting, Phil...I actually have flown from Jakarta through Sydney to Melbourne...that's a LONG journey. BOB S.
Bob imagine in a DC-2 ! i flew from Morocco to New York in a turbo prop in 1961 that took 20 hours with fuel stops in the Azores and Bermuda !
Ernie THANKS i saved 90 bucks from that one !!!
Makes it even MORE enjoyable! Good job. Alot of people say they "don't care how much some one else paid" or "I'm not investor" yada yada yada. but I hate to buy anything and see it offered for much less later.
i figure no stamp dealer can be an authority on everything....knowledge is power...if they price something too low...thats one for our side
Oops..i didn't know my wife was logged on..well she may agree with me on this one !
Hi Phil,
You got a nice cover. It was carried on the Uiver during the MacRoberson air race. I like the touch that the registration label matches the cover number.
To paraphrase an old commercial:
"It is an air race cover."
"It is a tbc charity cover."
"It is two, two covers in one."
Jan
Jan, Thank You, at first glance i thought it was an air race..but then became confused with the charity "Emma Zegels".
When i saw this Dutch Indies cover with postage on both sides i thought it was a airplane race type between the Dutch Indies and Australia..looking further its a charity (TB) cover i will have to research the dual mailing.
