As I was taking a shower this morning, it occurred to me that King Edward VII may have missed out on being on an Australian stamp. I did not recall seeing any Edward stamps in my Australian States album, and Australia proper (as far as stamps go), began in 1913, during King George V reign. Checking my album however, revealed his likeness on Victoria stamps (1901 and then in 1905). Scott 206 and 208, and 230 231. (On a different matter, there seems to be no 207 listing in my 2016 Scott Specialized Catalogue -- what's up with that?)

Is that it for poor Edward? Just 4 stamps.
And if anyone is fortunate enough to own them, could he or she post a scan on this thread.

And it is really starting to bug me why there is no 207 listed in Victoria. Does this happen elsewhere? You can't just go around skipping numbers in a stamp catalogue can you?

Anyway,

There are many "skips" throughout the Scott catalog, most from when sets of out of sequence stamps were formed.

The SG numbers for the two pound values are sequential. I checked my 1925 Scott and the skip was there at that point in time.

The mystery remains.

The dullness of the pale orange £1 stamp is due to the plastic strip I use for extra protection.

Rob, thanks much for posting the King Edward VII images. Somehow I figured you might have them in your collection. Outstanding.

Tooler, the link to the King Edward VIII stamp is a hoot.

Glad to contribute Eric. I noticed you changed your avatar, quite a nice stamp, my avatar is a South Australian nine pence trial proof from my collection.
