The revised auction rules have been posted. Here is a direct link: Auction Rules
Highlights of the revised rules:
The rules have been broken out into seven sections:
- General Rules
- Buying Rules
- Selling Rules
- Shipping Terms
- Unacceptable Listing Practices
- Disputes
- Filing a Dispute
An effort was made to try to accommodate the ways that sellers prefer to invoice for their sales by giving a period of time rather than a strict 5 days from sale. It was thought that invoicing within 30 days of sale will meet the invoicing needs of sellers.
There are minimum shipping terms requirements for sellers. Sellers should pay attention to this section and modify their terms, if necessary.
The section "Unacceptable Listing Practices" takes what was in the old rules and puts them, along with a few new items, in a list format for easy to read information. Sellers should become familiar with this list, and adjust their listing practices, if necessary.
The Dispute section was created to provide a procedure for buyers and sellers to file complaints when communications fail and help is needed from the auctioneer. Note the requirements and the processes stated for this rule.
Overall, most of the old rules remain. They have been reorganized and reworded. If everyone follows these rules, then the auctions should run smoothly.
