Cheryl,
Doc's Local Post seems to be quite popular on ebay.
See Here

R.E. Nichols of Tigard, OR is the operator of Doc's Local Post. He has been designing modern local post stamps and producing covers since the 60's. Snake Hollow Local Post operated in the 70's. I have detailed information about them but can't seem to get my hands on it just now.
There have been several threads here about Modern US Local Posts. Neat stuff!!

Hi everyone! My late father was a fellow local post creator and was good friends with R.E. "Doc" Nichol, who indeed ran his own local post from the 60's on. My understanding is that Doc passed away last year (same as my dad), and his collection was sold off. That's why we are starting to see various covers of his on eBay. A very creative man, his covers are great and inexpensive to collect if you are interested. My father Gordon ran the "Yeti Post" from 1965 until last year. He is pretty much under the radar as he created stamps and covers pretty much just for himself. But I have 10+ binders that attest to his productivity. They are hand drawn with a sly topical humor. Incredibly, I just found one of his stamps on ebay, although taken by itself it does not do him justice:

I think it is fair to say that my dad and Doc were artistamp pioneers!
Thankyou for sharing this news about your father....and Yeti Post Information about these local posts is often difficult to find
I had never heard of Doc's Local Post until just this week when I received a number of them including full sheets in a cinderella collection. Very interesting items!

sympathies on your fathers passing. I just evidently won one of your fathers stamps recently. I received it in the mail today.
I was looking for more information. Any place on the web that you tell a bit of history on what your father did and any more images of of his work?
Thanks for the bit on both Doc and your pop.

Sorry for the late response to Jeredutt. Congratulations on your Yeti stamp acquisition! I think it is accurate to say you are the first purchaser of my dad's handiwork in the last thirty years. If you PM me your info I will mail you some Yeti Post covers, just like the ones I still have to mail to Cheryl (sorry Cheryl, I am lagging). I am also going to send some covers to eBay seller "Outerbridge", who may put them up for sale and no doubt take the artistamp world by storm
My scanner is kaput and I will depend on you and Cheryl to post some images if you have an opportunity and desire to do so. New scanner on the way, tho. There is hardly any info about Yeti Post online, hoping to change that a bit. My dad was a very interesting fellow. Just one example: he successfully lobbied the government of Suriname to release a stamp honoring Amelia Earhart's stopover to that country in 1937, and he designed the stamp as well. Earhart was another obsession of his, along with Sherlock Holmes, Pitcairn Island, Sherlock Holmes, Charlie Chan and the California Missions, among others. He created philatelic items related to all those subjects. I will try to share some soon. Rob
Rob This is excellent news Thank you for sharing Now the search is on to find some of other creations of your Dad...You are honoring him with all this information Thankyou
Oops, I said Sherlock Holmes twice. I meant Joan of Arc, the Wizard of Oz and early American and Soviet space programs. to name a few more. The list goes on and on....
I am seeking some information on two Local Posts
Can anyone seer me in the right direction to find info on Doc`s Local Post and Hollow Snake Local Post?
