There have been many complaints recently, since AP no longer tries to deliver regular mail within 1 or 2 days. Here's an interesting development Happy

re: Aussie snail mail

snail mail started as a joke to the USPS now it has become a fact. Back in the 70's and even 80's getting a first class letter the next day was the norm at 8 cents was really a bargain, today we pay 49 cents for a first class letter and if you can get that letter within a week you're a lucky one.

re: Aussie snail mail

Mum talks of a time there were two deliveries a day in Adelaide (1960's I presume). She says that you could send out invitations to a tea party for the next day, in the morning and by the afternoon you would have the responses of who was coming.

Anyone else in their 70's living in Adelaide remember this?
