Cheryl,
Could you please post an example or two for those that are unfamiliar with these?
....like me?

Hi all;
Cheryl might also be referring to British squared circle cancels, that have no straight lines, only circles.
Here is one:
They are just concentric circles that have the outermost circles cut away on the four sides to make
a square. They are kinda large, so you need an entire cover to show them nice like Roy's examples are.
@ Roy; - Thanks for showing those, I've never seen those Canadian ones either.
I think they are kinda cool....

Hi all
Here are a few British Squared Circle cancellations from my collection. A couple of the strikes are 'almost' proof-like.

Thanks everyone for your images!
Always fun to learn new things.
And here is a chance to learn some more!

Nice thread on these most interesting postmarks.
For anyone interested in these Canadian square cancels, I would suggest this website:

Here's a nice one from the 1880 Great Britain issue, close to SON (socked on the nose)
Just wondering if any of the Stamporama members collect Canadian Squared Circle cancels....I do but am only a novice collector
