You can only hope it is this one.
No really, you can ONLY hope. It isn't.
So as a reproduction, if not an outright fake/forgery, it's worth what one would pay for same.
Alas I do not own a Blue Mauritious, or even a facsimile. Just an attempt at humor on my part. Was reading about the history of this stamp today and wanted to stir things up. This stamp has got the most amazing history. So much so that a book was written about it. Tried to buy the book on Amazon, and it was sold out. A book about a stamp sold out?
I believe a real one of these sells for a million or two.

7 used from UKP 10 at Abebooks ... the book, not the stamp
Thanks Ikey, just joined Abe Books and ordered the book for 9 pounds 50. I have no idea what that comes to in US dollars, but I am hoping for the best.
Cheers!

Anglophile,
Nice stamps! Just looked them up and they appear to be Scott 16 & 17? Note saying they were Lithographed locally by Dardenne. Regarding "libel to the Queen...," they appear to be a better likeness than Scott 15 --judging by the pictures in my Scott Classic catalogue. Though 15 appears to be just a tad more rare (& expensive). Not quite as rare as 1 and 2 of course.

"A book about a stamp sold out?"
"Sold out: euphemism for, "Who buys books about stamps? We ain't carrying it.""
The blue stamp appears to be a reprint from the original plate, if it doesn't say "false, or faux"on the back. "Reprints from the original plate were made in 1912, each stamp being produced in both colours. A few were struck in black" (Robson Lowe). These are scarce and quite valuable.
Just found this stamp tucked in the back of one of my old albums. Does anyone know if it is worth anything?
