Can you post a scan or describe which issue they are. I am at the bowlimg alley right now and can't find a catalogue.ðŸ˜
Mel, to Michel # you can use Colnect. Also, click on the image of the stamp to see a larger version and you can see the differences in the rays.

The difference is much less subtle than you think. The text of "Deutsches Reich" is old-style font on #76 and block letters on #79. Same goes for the motto below the design (i.e old style vs modern font), but not quite as big a difference.

Shown below are No. 76 and 79 respectively. The only thing you need to be concerned with in differentiating between them is the type face shown in the labels at left, right and below. There are many other small differences between them but the type face is the main indicator.
Ted, would post an image, except I don't have one and I am trying to purchase, but wanted to make sure of what I was doing. How is your bowling? I had a down and up set yesterday. 127, 197, 137. My average is 165.
meostamps, checked colnect, but still couldn't tell the difference, except for the rays.
Roy, fully understand the difference and can now easily tell them apart. I also discovered that Scott # 63-65 have Reichspost wording while all the rest have Deutsches Reich. Need to get my glasses fixed.
AntoniusRa, you posted your scans while I was typing. Thanks, It all makes sense now.
Thanks to all for your help. Now off to see what I can find.

My catalogue indicates that both are perf 14 1/4 - 14 1/2 (26 X 17 holes). Neither are watermarked. I can only see 2 differences: the 76 cats for $97.50 used and the 79 cats for $5.00 used and the other difference I see is that the rays emanating from the angel and crown in the center are much more pronounced on the 76. I believe the Michel number for the 76 is Mi 79A. I do not have a Michel catalogue so don't know what the Michel number is for the 79. I am sure that I only have the 79 because of the value.
Any help would be appreciated.
