Interesting!
An American statue, designed by a French sculptor, built by a French engineer (who also built the Eiffel Tower) reproduced on a South American stamp, printed (and presumably designed) by a British printing firm (Waterlow).
Neat!

The stamp is actually one of a set of 6. There have been many countries that have issued stamps depicting the Statue of Liberty. I would not doubt that several have made a topical collection of it. One would think the U.S. should have made a stamp with it's image long before it did, especially before another country did.
That is a lovely set of stamps.
"This stamp from Uruguay (Scott #217), issued in July 1919, to celebrate peace after World War I, was the first to depict the Statue of Liberty. It was issued 3 years before the statue's first appearance on a US stamp (Scott #566), as part of the 4th Bureau definitives series. "
