I just received word from Margaret's daughter that Marg had a dizzy spell and fell in her hospital room's washroom sometime yesterday. Apparently she had to crawl out to the room to reach a call button for a nurse.
She hit her head on the counter and has a big goose egg hematoma. She is in extreme pain. They have done X-rays and won't know until the morning whether or not she has broken her hip.
She has gone through so much this past year. She's had I think two if not three heart attacks within the past 6 months, two broken wrists (both at the same time), a fractured knee cap and now this. Marg is 87 years old and bright as a whip.

Hi Everyone - Here's the latest updates on Marg (my sister). I hope she doesn't get upset that I'm sharing this information, but if she does I can handle her even if she's older than me (LOL).
UPDATE:- Feb. 17, 2016
Catscan showed that she had a small stroke. Ultrasound showed that she has several blood clots. Two other scopes of stomach & bowel have been completed and samples sent off for biopsies. Discussions have taken place about possibly inserting a mesh type device in the main artery to catch blood clots before they reach the heart, lungs or brain. That was to be done yesterday, but they've decided not to do that procedure for now and are trying more types of blood thinners.
I don't think she's had to have any more blood transfusions this week, but not 100% sure about that.
Following the two scopes that were done, it will be a couple of weeks before biopsy results of samples sent to the lab are available. Hopefully by then they will know what they are dealing with and be able to treat the problem rather than treat each symptom as it has arisen as they have been doing.
In the meantime, Marg is in good spirits and I think she is focusing on getting walking and stronger now and has a lot of the worry over with. She is eager to get back home as soon as she is medically sound. She is one tough lady!
Marg has such a large, loving & caring family. I wish they would adopt me. LOL

Update March 9th.
Margaret was scheduled to be moved to a rehabilitation facility on Monday for up to three months while she continued to work on improving her strength and mobility a little each day.
Unfortunately she had a relapse on Monday and is receiving blood transfusions yet again.
75 days in the hospital and still counting.

The Dr was in and thinks Margaret is improving a little. He said we will see how many 9 lives she has. I think she has borrowed them from both her cats during the past few months.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Margaret will be sadly missed by her 2 sisters, 7 children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. I'm not sure if she had any great-great grandchildren. I lose count there's so many of us in the family.
She left behind many good memories and was one of the nicest, kindest people anyone could meet in their lifetime.
I know there were a couple of Stamporama members (I can't remember who) that were owed stamps or a few dollars, so if those persons would like to contact me by email I would be more than happy to settle up whatever issues are outstanding. Unfortunately if you were owed stamps, her family have no clue as to where those stamps might be so a refund of monies paid is the only recourse I have for you.
