Scott lists the following 1922 set with a footnote saying Counterfeits exist, but it gives no information on how to differentiate the two.

It is Scott design SP11-SP14 (Scott #B30-B33)

Can anyone provide some input into this set as to how to differentiate between genuine and counterfeit?

re: USSR 1922 Question

Not sure if it will help but SG 1992/3 simplified lists them as Obligatory tax stamps for poverty relief.
They give sizes as follows;

2T red/green 35x42 mm

4T red 57 mm each side (triangular stamps)

6T green 29x59mm.
They were all issued imperf without gum .

re: USSR 1922 Question

Thanks Vic - now that I've got a starter, I'm going to have to do some research into identifying genuine from counterfeit. They are so roughly done to begin with - although quite often if the genuine is more "rough" then the counterfeit is more "refined."
