It just occurred to me that even though there are U.S. issues included, the WW issues may qualify this thread to be moved to a more appropriate area. Sorry!

Ready to jump into perfins with both feet?
The Perfin Society (UK)
The Perfins Club (US)
Country Catalogs & CheckLists & Links
... and I see you've got one Romanian
Cheers,

Thanks M.
I'm not sure about both feet, but they do interest me. I do appreciate the links to the perfin sites. It looks like some good information available to get started with.

I can have a stab at some -
Definite - PAC Prudential Assurance Company
ILEA Inner London Education Authority
NYCC North Yorkshire County Council
GEC (upside down) General Electric Company
SBC ( with Stockport postmark) Stockport Borough Council
Guesses - BBC possibly British Broadcasting Corporation, but going with part postmarkmore probably,
If Fylde Coast - Blackpool Borough Council
If Sussex Coast - Brighton Borough Council
CCC Cheshire,Cornwall,Caernarvon,Cardigan,Carmarthen County Council ( there may be others)Cardiff, Chester City Council
CEC (something) Education Committee - any of above counties plus other civic entities
or (something)(something) Company
HCC Herefordshire,Hertfordshire County Council etc or Hull City Council etc
LCC London,Lincolnshire,Lancashire,Leicestershire,Lanarkshire County Council etc
or Leicester,Liverpool,Leeds City Council etc.
There are thousands of different perfins, but ID is helped with postmarks or (even better) inscribed envelopes. Some knowledge of British geography and local government organisation is also a help, but the latter needs to be used in period, as every now and again identities and titles change
PAC is possibly the most common with hundreds of agents throughout the country.
QE2 issues are mostly local authorities and public utilities ( gas Water and electricity) - most companies were on metermarks by 1952.
Can't help with any other countries.
I don't go out of my way to collect these, but I do keep any that come along, together with the broadly similar private overprints used fiscally on receipts. It is an interesting intellectual exercise trying to id them!

Wow! Thanks Malcolm! That's very helpful information.
Much appreciated,

I collect perfins on my Ben Franklin stamp. Here's one that is on it's way from eBay right now. I got it for $15 which is okay. There are a couple up for sale now in the $50 range, way above what they'd be worth.
This one is "Y&T" and you can see it was mailed from Brooklyn, NY. There isn't a clue on the card. Other side is just a comic card of a monkey. Anyone?
Yale & Towne at Woodside Park. The Y & T
Possibly?
Sorry lost the link in pasting, try this, seems to relate to a baseball team.

Very Nice! One has to wonder about the tie between a stamp presumably being used by a business or institution, with the simple phrase "How about it", being sent on a comic monkey card?!!
I can only wish there was one of those Ben Franklin's in this bunch!
WB
Yale and Towne appear to be the forerunner of the Yale Lock company, the uni of Connecticut appear to have the old records, maybe worth an email.
I acquired the majority of these from an estate lot I purchased awhile back. I had a handful that I had accumulated over the years, but with this many, it may be a new collecting genre. I don't know much about them, nor have I joined or researched any of the society sites. I thought I'd post them and see if any experts on the panel might spot any unusual or undocumented examples in the bunch.
Thanks in advance for any help, opinions or info.
I wasn't sure if what stamp they were applied to had any bearing on things, so I went ahead and uploaded scans of the backs and fronts respectively.
