Make sure you get the acid free version of rubber cement.
Hi all;
Stamps and glue, what a novel idea. That is one that should catch on like wildfire. Plus you can re-gum
the backs of stamps!
Wish I'd thought of that....

Rubber cement? Ah, no! Back when I was 14 and had just gotten new albums, my father suggested that I mount my stamps with rubber cement. He reasoned that it wouldn't harm them and would just ball up and wipe away when I didn't want it mounted anymore. Not the way it worked out... stamps that were mounted with rubber cement deteriorated over the years. The cement dried out and left brown oily stains on both stamps and pages. Ruined everything!
the products have been used by commercial artists for decades. likely your problem was paper, not the cement. time saving for sure.
heptane is great for adhesive removal and replacement. no need fro hinges or mounts.
rubber cement great for non-adhesives ... very easy to apply and replace. available from art supply
