So, is anyone at all interested in collecting stamps? Just for a change, you know what I mean.
Is that what we're supposed to talk about on a philatelic discussion board? No way!
You mean that banner at the top of this page wasn't created by someone just blowin' smoke?
Good point Ernie. Moderator, please move my post about wondering if anyone wants to talk about stamps to a more appropriate category.
Regards ... Tim.

Now we're just pickin' at the pepper in the soup. I think it's safe to say that Philatelia's honest and sincere suggestion doesn't have wings. Do we have to make the point that she wasn't "talking about stamps" for a day and a half? Kind of comes off as mean spirited. Might be best just to drop it and move on.

I let my frustration push me into an inappropriate post. I apologize to Ernie Jones (ernieinjax) and any other I might have offended.
Now, let's talk stamps!
I recently won a small collection on ebay for too much money, but it is due to arrive on December 22 and it is my Christmas present to me. Yippie! Stamps to play with over the holidays!
Bobby, with all due respect, I was not suggesting that anyone's posts were out of area but simply stating that it was indeed "ok" that she wasn't "talking about stamps" for a minute.
I love the work you're doing for the club.
Many thanks,
Ernie
Bobby,
I'd like to commend you on the work you do for the club. You do an outstanding job. I'll send you a private message also.
Ernie
I am deeply appreciative of all of you who make this club a reality. Those of us who read the discussion boards, Rambler, etc. in the interest of expanding our own horizons often take the work that you do for granted. We shouldn't.
So thank you.
YES, let's talk stamps and spread some holiday good cheer too. Let's laugh and shake hands and share the joys of philately. So how about it? Peace?
My two schnauzers ordered a full kilo of recent Japanese stamps for me for a Christmas surprise. That should keep me out of trouble for quite some time!
I have just given my self an early Christmas present a three year subscription to Australian Stamp News with a few freebies thrown in including a set of catalogues 5000 world and Australian stamps ,mounts, and a illuminated magnifying glass.
Should keep me occupied for a little while.
Merry Xmas and a Happy New year to all our members and their families .Take care out there.
Brian
Well done Brian, you'll have fun what all that.
I think I'm going to give myself a present and stop buying stamps for a while. I've been going through stamps that I have bought over the past couple of decades and still haven't put into my albums. Lo and behold, I'm finding plenty of duplicates, and I know that there are more duplicates coming over the next couple of weeks from more stamps that I have bought.....
But, I have been adding plenty of stamps to my albums as I'm going through the piles and boxes and piles and more boxes and more piles....
Michael,
What countries are you working on at the moment?
Tim
Yesterday I worked on Hungary. It was mostly fixing my album pages.
Today I concentrated on Turkey as I found a large envelope full of newer issues. I have had that one tucked away since 2012. Before I found the envelope of Turkish stamps, I was working on the "J" to "M" countries. I also found the auction lot of Marienwerder #1-14 MNH that I won last year. I was the only bidder at $10.00! Those stamps are now in the album, and that officially makes one less entity that I do not have any stamps from.
I have several year sets from Czechoslovakia and Russia that I am gearing up to work on. I have a few more year sets from Czechoslovakia that should be arriving in a couple of days. I have completely reworked my Czechoslovakia over the past couple of months through obtaining year sets from 1940 to 1992. I received two more year sets from Pitcairn Islands Postal Service in New Zealand. Those went into the books along with other Pitcairn stamps that I got from the SOR auctions. I have been getting many newer issues from Cuba. Spaces getting filled there as well.
Won't have much time to work on stamps for the next few days as Friday is my day to prep for the flea market and the weekend I am at the flea market selling what I can.
With all of the work I have been doing on my stamps, I haven't done much with my trains. The rails must be quite rusty from non-use!
I have plenty of duplicates as I said elsewhere. I will be working on some approval books in the near future. I have plenty of material coming hopefully later in January. I'll let people know when I am ready for that.
I have been retired now for going on four years. The things that I am doing now I was doing back when I was working. I don't have time to do all that I want to do now. How the heck was I able to do it all AND work????? Whoever said that when one retires they get plenty of free time was on a planet where the days are 48 hours long.

This topic was introduced into another to lighten the discussion and promote discussion about the hobby instead of criticizing the present structure of Stamporama.
