It's been awhile since I checked in with an update on the Holocaust Stamps Project, underway since 2009 at Foxborough (MA) Regional Charter School.

Next spring, a local retired educator, who is also an avid philatelist, will start an official junior philatelists' club at the school, a direct result of the interest in stamps, generated by the Project!

As of Dec. 2, 2015 ---thanks in parts to support from a few generous SOR members --- the total had risen to 6,611,519 donated stamps, 60% of the 11 million goal which will honor the memories of as many victims of intolerance and inhumanity.

Besides teaching lessons on the events and effects of Holocaust-era history, the Project has been a springboard for learning about tolerance, acceptance, and respect for differences between individuals and groups.

Thousands of the donated stamps are being used by students to create a series of 18 original artworks depicting what they are learning.
Most recently they finished "Music is a dream" which honors the extraordinary life of 110 year old Holocaust survivor, Alice Herz Sommer,a lifelong concert pianist who died in 2014.

Stamps have been donated from across the country, but are still especially welcome from the states not yet colored on our map!
(We DO have Nevada now, thanks to an SOR member!)Image Not Found

Stamps in any amount, in any condition, are welcome!

Thanks to all who have supported the Holocaust Stamps Project already!Applause

Hi Fellow SOR Members!

CSheer has just contacted me on the SOR message system about making a donation to the Holocaust Stamp Project. I will gladly send some used stamps their way. I'm in Mississippi, and that is one state they have not received donations from yet. Hopefully, I will be the one to change that.
I encourage other SOR members, especially from the states that they have not received stamps from yet, to send a donation of used stamps.

Kind Regards,
Dave N.
