Audrey Hepburn stamp auction
The auction which just started is going for nine more days if you are interested
I believe this is a single from the sheet of ten sold for Euro 430,000 in 2010. I remember that this was considered a disappointing result at the time. We'll see if someone made a smart investment as (s)he is now disposing of the stamps individually.

Her family did not approve of the picture of Audrey smoking a cigarette. Thus the reason the stamp was not issued.
According to Scott, 30 of the stamps were never recovered prior to destruction. Four are known to have been used for postage.

The stamp is listed in my Michel Germany 2013/14 at 150,000€ for MNH (Michel catalog number XIX listed after Michel number 2222).

Well if ten sold for Є430,000 in 2010 the single has a way to go to cover the investment of Є43,000 apiece. This should be interesting.

As the seller, I would be a little nervous now, even though bidders were supposedly pre-vetted. So the buyer with zero feedback bid 64K euros for this and also bid on a jacket/coat 3 hours previously. How strange.
