Thanks Bobby. I knew there had to be someplace to find the information. Now I have something else to work on.
There are 4924 Stamps-on-Stamps on the checklist available from the The American Topical Association
There's a stamp-on-stamp in here somewhere:
Australia 2007......
Cheers
Steve.
OVER 4000 stamps on stamps!!! I might just reconsider the idea. I have enough problems just trying to fill holes in the collections I already have.
Thank everyone for the information, will have to think about this for a while.

Try "Classic Stamps on Stamps".

Mel....
If you need to cut back on the size of such a collection, you might opt to collect only those stamps that commemorate the centenary of the issuing country's stamps... such as shown by Roy in the previous post. That will decrease the size of the collection considerably. This is exactly what I decided to do when adding this to my topical collections.
Some good ideas, but I want to start small I was thinking about countries that show other countries stamps, such as the attached.
Sorry about the size, but couldn't figure out how to reduce it with out being in black and white.
what a great souvineer sheet of stamps on stamps! all the flags and antique US stamps on it!! where can i get one of these?
Bobbylovesstamps
Bobby the sheet is Burkina Faso scott 500 there is one on ebay now for $1.80 plus 1.25 shipping. Just go to catagory stamps on ebay and type in Burkina Faso 1975 !
I've seen a lovely collection that one of my customers has. He is a GB specialist, and his topical is "The Penny Black" on Stamps. It's a lovely, inexpensive collection.
David
the souvenir sheet is Serbia #1, the stamps are Serbia #2-6.
Working on a page for my small collection of CSA stamps. Ran across this beauty. I've got one on the way. De La Rue considered the CSA 5c the finest product of the company at the time. This stamp comes from a set of four from 1971. They are all readily available mint or CTO but I'd really like to have a copy genuinely used. I found the 2 1/2 p value used but not this one. Would these stamps, and particularly this value, have seen regular use or were they primarily collector items. Thanks in advance
Ernie
Australia has quite a number of stamps on stamps starting from memory with the 1976 National Stamp Week.
Centenary example of the famed Blue Mauritius.
Here's one I bought recently.
It's a bit like a "Spot the Stamp" competition, but, although not a great collector of Belgium (which could change); it intrigued me.
Believe me, the real thing looks even better ..... and perhaps carries a subtle message for all of us who keep staring at masses of stamps that need sorting

Has anyone tried collecting various country stamps with images of stamps as the central theme? Is there any place to go without searching every country? Maybe not new, but just an idea for another type of collection.
