I was wondering how many other of the collectors here do this and what are some of their favorites. There really are so many good ones I've seen but have a hard time remembering their names. My two favorites have been Prison Break and Battlestar Galactica (the new one not the silly 70's edition). A month or so ago I watched all 8 or so seasons of Andy of Mayberry which brought back a lot of memories. Right now I'm on my third time of watching Stargate Atlantis

From the USA, True Detective (first series), Homeland, and Fargo. From Europe The Killing, Borgen, The Bridge, all Danish, Braquo, French, and Heimat from Germany.
I have neither Netflix nor 'streaming' of any sort, but too many boxsets awaiting view, including The Wire, Band of Brothers and The Pacific from America, and Spiral from France. Oh, and the last couple of series of The Sopranos. I actually like waiting a week, and deplore the trailers at the end of an episode, which I attempt to switch off.
I enjoyed Tour of Duty , back in the day. Was it the first to intone "Previously, on..." (now universal, it seems) at the beginning of each episode? I'm fairly sure it was the first time we heard it in the UK.
Can't do stamps at the same time, I'm afraid - TV is in the other room.

On Netflix and Amazon, I am currently working my way through Midsomer Murders (BBC), Piroit (BBC), Supernatural (USA), and a lot of movies I missed (most of 'em very bad). I love crime/film noir combinations, and there are many of these on Youtube. I also have a library of over 1000 movies (DVDs and digital), so I doubt I'll run out any time soon.

I enjoy the HBO series like True Dectective 1...my wife does not get it because she does not pay attention and only sees dribs and drabs, also she can not stand Matthew McConaughey (to put put it mildly) i watched Beasts of All Nations on netflix last night...about the children soldiers in Africa..i liked the ending !

I have trouble binge watching and sorting stamps, simply because where our televisions are located, I do not have good space for sorting.
That said, my wife and I hit Longmire hard on Netflix lately, and are also on the fourth season of Justified. I also have been doing "mini-binges" of Blue Bloods - catching 3-4 shows at a time.
As time allows, I've also been watching Falling Skies - my wife is not a fantasy/science fiction fan, so it is usually one series at a time and takes a while to get through for me.
We do binge watch quite a bit, especially British mysteries. Luther is next on our list!

Oh, I don't know. But it would seem logical if so many of the family are cops? Not sure, but I enjoy the show.

When I'm working on stamps, if I'm not listening to just music, I like to listen to radio airchecks, or old time radio shows.

In our home, whenever I'm stamping, my dearly beloved is usually watching some show such as storage wars, ghosthunters, bigfoot searching or some over such drivel. Fortunately being hard of hearing I miss most of it. (no I'm not getting an hearing aid any time soon)
I like to watch UK comedy shows, Vicar of Dibley, One foot in the grave, Open all hours, Thin blue line etc.
The most frustrating thing (my opinion) of today's films/tv shows is that they seem to be filmed in a dark room without lights and blackout curtains at the windows.
I shudder to visualise what Lawrence of Arabia would look like if filmed today.
I just wish that here in Canada we could pick the tv channels that we want without having the drivel/dross that is "bundled" in a package. In this day with world wide internet is it unreasonable to expect to be able to select any tv station from any country.
I even have to have two dvd players to be able to watch the dvd's we brought from Uk. One of those had to be hacked.
Am I really expecting too much, or maybe just an old grouch.
As it is Halloween I guess tonights tellie will be all a load of Ghoullies.
Oh well, time to watch "One Magic Christmas" yet again.

Just finished binge watching the first season of "Madame Secretary." Decent writing! Just started "Alias". Loved "The Dresden Files". All are on Netflix.

For me it's more radio than television. CBC offers a number of good talk shows (As it Happens, Ideas, etc.) in the evenings that are a perfect companion in my "stamp office". I also have an old-school component stereo system set up in there for the times when there isn't anything worth listening to on the radio.

Watching TV and stamps don't always mix. I like to watch TV detectives ( mainly British rather than transatlantic although I do like Blue Bloods, F B Eye and Murdoch ( but the last because the Inspector is not only a Brit but a Yorkshireman to boot !!).
However Inspector Morse,Inspector Lewis,Midsomer Murders and the like require 100% attention otherwise you quite literally "loose the plot". Then when you reach the unmasking of the villain , you turn out to be disappointed as you have missed the crucial clue !
My wife moans at me because I don't watch "fluff" which I guess I could do and work on stamps too. I like my visual entertainment to have at least a pretence of intellectual content and stimulation otherwise I get bored - I can't do to have my brain in "park" mode.
However I do often listen to good music through the computer while soaking stamps as it prevents me from getting impatient and tearing them !!

That's a funny thing. I have two hobbies. I work on stamps at the kitchen table, which is open to the den and the 50" TV. So I can work with my stamps and watch TV with her at the same time. She generally will fall asleep within 15 minutes so now I'm watching her show selection by myself. There are times I'll put on a show I watch, and put it back to her show before she wakes up. But as long as I'm at the kitchen table I get credit for 'together time'.
My model building hobby means I must go upstairs to the workbench. I will get scowls about "leaving her by herself". So the minute I see Dancing or a Kardashian I plan my escape... wait for her to fall asleep. Go to model room, work until 10 or 11pm. Come downstairs and sit in the den before she wakes up. She never knew I left so I still get credit for 'together time.'

When I'm stamping I usually have the radio on or listening to CDs. No TV in the stamp room but I do have the computer there so I play some DVDs of concerts. I have a set of "The American Folk Blues Festival, 1962-1966" that I am watching now. I have plenty of Bluegrass, Country and Bluegrass DVDs to keep me entertained while stamping.

I have always been a multi-tasker, long before the term became popular. I spend most of my day working on stamps and there are few other things I can do at the same time. Now that we have streaming video from the like of Netflix, Amazon etc., I find it the perfect thing to do while I am working on stamps. Sure you have to do a lot of stopping and rewinding but those things are easy and make the two things compatible and double the fun for your time. It is so great to watch back to back episodes continuously season after season. I haven't watched regular TV for many years now and don't think I could stand watching any series and have to wait till next week or next year to see what happens. I don't have to worry about being hip at the water cooler so I just wait for running series to finish the season and is made available. For the last 5 years or so since Netflix started streaming, I have been watching every TV series that appeals to me. I like Fantasy, Science Fiction, Action and Adventure, Mystery and of course Documentaries.
