Its always interesting to see images of shows from other countries and how things are done at their shows in comparison to here in the US.
Thanks for posting!

Yes. That is quite interesting a few actresses participating in the release of a special cover? How is that? It would be interesting to learn more about collecting in these parts of the world, i.e., what are the trends?

Hi,
Few more updates on the stamp exhibition.
The exhibits were divided into two different classes - competitive and non-competitive.
Under non-competitive class there were Invitee Class,Official class,Jury collection, from eminent philatelists and school.
Under competitive class there were Traditional Philately, Postal History, Postal Stationery, Thematic Philately, first day covers and special covers, Modern Philately, Social Philately, Philatelic publication / literature.
There were also few topicals like, Automobiles, Railways, Airplanes, flora and fauna and theme wise like Mahatma Gandhi, Indian and World Cinema, Sports and Games, Olympics, Indian Political History. Also there were sections on Indian princely states.
The first Indian stamp which was released on 1854 was also on display.
On each day of the exhibition a special cover was released. As I visited the exhibition on Saturday,10th October, a special cover on Lions Club of North Calcutta was released on that day and a speech given on the notable contribution of Lions Club around the world.I am guessing the film actresses might got the invitation as a special guest by the Lions Club and they also got the opportunity to promote their new film release which is scheduled to be on Friday, 16th October.
It was good to see school children were around and eager to know more about this hobby.
I have few more pictures which I tried to upload but an error on file size of the pictures did not allow me.If anyone could help me how I can go about it.
Thanks
Auro
