That is a nice stamp - I was lucky enough to be given about 30 or more of those..

Do you collect fish as a topic ?

No Steve, I do not collect fish or really any topical stamps. This one was just sitting on my desk and I thought to participate in your thread. It appears marlins are as illusive as onions as subject matter on stamps. The interesting aspect of the Mauritius stamp is that it is postmarked from Remscheid, Germany.

I'm sure that there are far more marlin/sailfish/swordfish stamps than onion stamps. Another forum has a 5 page thread of such stamps.

Yes jill.. Hundreds of 'em about from lots and lots of countries.. Where is that other forum ?

About the postmark .. How do you get a Mauritius stamp cancelled in Germany ?

I have seen one (Somewhere on line) with an "EXPO OSAKA" postmark But all of mine have the Mauritius Postmark like the ones below.

Here are some Fiji fish ...... Note the last one is pre-decimal 1/- value..

Also have a mint pair OF THESE overprinted with "ROYAL VISIT 1970"
