Do you use 102 cards for storage ? when they were 20 dollars a box i used them like kleenex..but now i have to re evaluate. I use a card when i list a stamp on the auction...then i remove the stamp and re use the card...but i still burn through them !

re: using 102 cards not cost effcient ?

My experience is pretty much like yours. I do use them to organize my items for sale, but also use small removable labels to write on, so that they're easier to reuse. When I sell something, whether one item or a bunch, I repack everything into glassines to ship, which also helps save on package weight for postage.

From time to time, Subway, one of the two manufacturers that I'm aware of (the other is in Canada), occasionally sell 2nds at a good price, which works well for my needs (although their shipping to the West Coast kills me -- should be much better for you).

Yep, supplies keeping going up in price. Best to save up and buy them by the box (1000 cards per box). The cards are often found cheaper than glassines.

I make all notations in pencil, and then use a mechanical eraser to clear them to make them ready for reuse.

I only use them for storing stamps I want to sell/trade. At our local collectors bourse I sell stamps for 25% of catalog value. Originally I put everything in 102 cards, but at this point I usually only card items that cat 50 cents or more. I plan to put the more common stuff in a bit for people to leaf through at 3 cents a stamp.

I use the card to "stage" stamps for sale. It works real good with approval books as you can sort the stamps not only in catalog order (if the stamps are cataloged), but also by the page stamp selling price.
