Here is a pair of stamps on piece:

Here is a close-up of the date in the lower left corner:

It is the same on the stamp on the right. Is this unusual?

A minor freak?

I think that issue was still tagged using a mat. I don't have the pane in front of me, so I can't verify.

If so, it looks like a tagging ghost -- which would make it a freak. Tagging ghosts are not that common on recent stamps (compared to stamps of the 1970s).
