First, these are not stamps. They are labels.
From what I can tell, Czech-Americans (known as Bohemians) in the United States formed in 1914 organizations to support and raise funds for an independent Czech state in Europe.
Various "bazaars" (festivals) were held in many cities around the USA (and continue to this day). At first, souvenirs, including publicity/propaganda labels, were sold to raise money. Tens of thousands of dollars were raised.
Capek, Thomas, The Czechs (Bohemians) in America. Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1920. 293 p. Reprinted New York: Arno Press, 1969 is supposed to be the definitive book on this subject.

I was able to find out only very little about the labels.
Great info, Michael! Many thanks!
So it's considered a Cinderella?
Yes. Whether the glass slippers come with it, I'll leave that for you to decide.
I'm hoping that someone in SOR has some expertise in Czech stamps and can share some insight about this one which was part of a lot donated recently to the Holocaust Stamps Project. The true color is a deep purple.
Many thanks!
Charlotte
(FYI - The current Project total is 5,467,130 stamps, almost half the goal of 11 million...)
