New postage rates in the USA went into effect May 31, 2015.

I took a quick look through the USPS Notice 123 while I was printing out the pages, and my general observations were as follows:

While domestic mail rates generally only include an additional 1 cent per additional ounce, if you mail international, you will finds that overall postage rates have increased on average by 5%.

Canada has been broken out into 8 zones, which seems to apply to only Priority Mail International shipments. I was unable to find a zone chart for Canada.

Fees for additional services, like postage insurance, registration, signature confirmation, PO Box rentals, etc. have increased on average by 5%.

All USPS pricing information is contained here:

re: New Postage Rates in USA Effective May 31, 2015

I went to the usps.gov website to see what the new letter-rates to Canada are, as we sell U.S. postage at the store for customers who require it for a SASE. NO WHERE could I find the basic domestic and international letter rates.

Would some kind soul please tell me the new letter-rates to Canada for:

a one-ounce letter;
a two-ounce letter;
a three-ounce letter;
and, a postcard?

As well, I need the non-machineable (odd-sized letter) surcharge.

Many thanks!

David, click on the rate notice link that I provided in my original post. Click on the "Printer Friendly PDF" button on the upper left side of the screen. Then click on page 36. The rates for first class international from the USA to Canada are there.

Domestic rates for the USA are on page 1 right below the Table of Contents.

You can print the page for future reference. Also, bookmark the link so you will always have it. It is updated every time there is a rate increase.

Sometimes shipping in the USA, like standard mail and priority mail, is priced by zones. The zone chart is not contained within the USPS Rate Notice. Here is the link to find the correct zone rates for packages you ship within the USA. Note that the Zone Chart requires you to enter the first 3 digits of your ZIP Code as it is specific from where the mailing is made.

I print out the zone chart and keep it with my printed version of the USPS Rate Notice.

Another useful tool is the USPS Postage Price Calculator.
