This may be a daft question, Roy, but what is the difference between your project and the relevant entries in a "Stanley Gibbons Simplified" catalogue? If you took that as a base, I think it would be comparatively easy to adjust according to your own criteria.
I like your idea, Roy. I have been collecting using a very similar method for my USA, Canada, Swedish, and New Zealand collections.

In the 1992/3 SG Simplified the Antigua values in GB pounds are as follows:
1d Red mint 0.80p
1d Mauve used 40.00
2.5 Red/brown used 45.00
4d Blue used 15.00
6d Blue mint 55.00
1/- Mauve 120.00
There are only 3 stamps of Victoria from 1862 and 6 from 1879 that are catalogued.

It's hard to figure their logic in a "simplified" listing when they do not consider the 2.5d ultramarine (worth about 1/8th the price of the 2.5d red brown) as worthy of a separate listing.
Sorry Roy they do list the others, I only gave some of them.
The others are:
0.5d Green mint 0.40
2.5d Blue mint 5.00
4d Brown mint 1.25

I have always loved the stamps depicting Queen Victoria, but it can be a very complex and expensive attempt to collect them all. On the other hand, I have also enjoyed the fact that it is frequently easy to buy some very beautiful stamps very inexpensively -- usually much less than is paid for the latest hideous offerings from the Post Office (any Post Office). See the other current thread about "Happy Victoria Day" for some samples.
Accordingly, I am setting out on a new project: an attempt at an organized "Simplified Stamps of Queen Victoria". Maybe the project will be done by the time her bicentennial roles around in 2019 (at least the organization).
First step is to build a simplified catalogue listing.
Here is my start: 3 colonies done in about 40 minutes:
(Scott values are from the 2011 Classic)
I am focused on the visual differences in order to highlight the design and visual beauty of these stamps. I think this will end up being a very affordable and attractive collection. Of course, there will be some very expensive holes, but what collection doesn't have those?
If anyone is interested in joining me in this endeavor, please drop me a line. Even if it is only a willingness to check my list for accuracy. This could also be a community effort, splitting up the task of making the checklist. (This is maintained on an Excel spreadsheet.) If others are interested, I would be happy to coordinate the results.
Whatcha think?
