This "IYL" celebration dovetails nicely with another thread about trains. But we should be careful: the light at the end of the tunnel could be a train!

I don't know about the International Year of Light, but yesterday was National Beer Day. I heard it on morning radio. My wife saw it on Facebook. We went to our favorite pub for dinner to celebrate such a holiday. We figured the place would be crowded...nope! Bartenders didn't even know it was a national holiday!

Linns has an article that states that the United Nations General Assembly has declared 2015 as the International Year of Light.
