I've been trying to do this for several days now, and cannot manage it at all. Having typed the title and subtitle in, I attempt to copy my text into the large white area below. I get a message asking if I want the site to access my clipboard and I say yes, and click Paste. The area flickers briefly but remains white.

I can type on it, but not copy my text to it.

On the other hand, on the small area below marked 'Introduction' I can copy all my text. A few days ago I did this, and then set about inserting the relevant illustrations. That was not easy, but eventually it was all done and so I clicked on Save and Set for Publication. Whereupon the entire text, plus pictures, disappeared!

I emailed Ralph Heymsfeld to confess my incompetence and asked him to do it for me, but he is obviously a busy man and I would rather try to do it myself without bothering him further.

So, where am I going wrong? Any hints would be helpful!

It sounds like you are also pasting formatting elements with your text. I would suggest copying your text, then pasting it in a text-only editor like Notepad, then saving and closing the document. This will strip any formatting elements from the text. Reopen the document, copy the text, and paste that in the SOR editor box. You should be pasting "pure" text at this point. I hope this works for you.

Thanks for that advice, Douglas, but I have tried it with no success. I have also scoured the thread on the other part of this board, and referred to all the posts designed to help. No-one seems to have addressed the problem of how to upload text onto the large white space!

Thanks for that warning, anglophile. In fact I've managed to upload the article after several goes, and even add the images where I want them. I await its appearance in the Articles section - I assume it needs to be vetted by the moderator first.

I hope it was worth it!

re: Publishing Articles On Stamporama

Hi All,

Sorry to have been out-of-pocket the last week. I've had some personal business to attend to and have fallen behind in my Stamporama duties. Yes we do have a process where I review articles prior to their final posting. I'm back at it now and should have the backlog cleared out shortly.

The good news is that we have a number of really interesting articles cued up – so stay tuned.

Thanks to everyone for the continued interest in the publishing side of the club.

Best,
Ralph
