re: avatar

While we're on the topic of avatars... Just curious if there is an unwritten rule that if one uses a stamp as an avatar, that it should be of a stamp that one currently possesses? My current avatar, and the one that I uploaded when I first joined SOR, is my childhood favorite, US Scott #292 - the $1 Trans-Mississippi "Cattle in the Storm" issue.

That stamp is beyond my financial reach at the moment, so it remains an elusive goal. Day Dreaming And someday, when I find that reasonably well-centered, non-faded, fancy-cancel #292 at an affordable price, I will scan it and change my avatar!

Thanks Peter! How do yall like my choice???? One of my favorite stamp series of all time. They all just scream Americana. They're truly America's golden age of stamp production. I daydream about putting together a world class exhibit with this series. They're beautiful, plentiful and affordable. What say ye???

Truly beautiful stamp! Good choice!

My avatar is a take off on my favorite stamps (Queen Victoria portraits) with Coco dog's face. Note the C-O-C-O in the corner letters! Happy

I decided on this Iceland stamp, rather dramatic, and looks pretty good on an album page!
