In addition, if you are unsure of a member, you can always click on their user name, or do a member search. The results when you scroll down the member profile will show you when the member joined Stamporama, and will also tell you how many items the member has sold and how many the member has purchased.
I think there should be some notification when a member is banned. I just identified a seller who was banned from the club on 02/10/2015.......it would have helped to have known this immediately as I could have initiated proceedings with Pay Pal sooner. This is the first time in 10 years that I have been cheated of stamps I purchased..........very irritating. Chris Lang
are you talking about this fellow, Chris, from this thread?

Chris,
This situation doesn't come up very often, but are you suggesting that on the rare occasion that a member is banned, an email should go out to all members?
Regards ... Tim.
Is there perhaps a way of directing members to a board announcement, in a similar way to the red coloured notification we get when there is a message waiting to be read.
Tim, I'm not sure. I suppose that's what I was suggesting but I don't know how realistic that is. I was just caught off guard after a long delay with no sign of stamps purchased and then saw the addition to the profile indicating he had been banned. It certainly alerted me to feeling additionally concerned and prompted me to be much more direct in dialoguing directly with the seller and with paypal. I'm not sure I would normally have thought of looking at the members profile or club status.
Chris
No matter how careful we are in the admission of new members, there is always going to be the chance that someone will be admitted to Stamporama who will then proceed to use the Auction and Approvals to cheat you. Sellers have more protection than buyers because they receive payment before shipping goods. Buyers, I caution you to take things slowly with new members who immediately upon admission begin listing and selling. If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is. Buy a few items and see how it goes before committing to big purchases. And if at all possible, pay with PayPal as that will give you some recourse against fraud. The vast majority of new members are going to be honest and trustworthy, but it only takes one bad guy to ruin your day.
