Yesterday I was sorting through a pile of parcel post stamps from Uruguay and separated out the violet 1c (Q35 - on left) from the redrawn 1c (Q51 - larger image on right) as shown below (these images are not mine).

The redrawn stamp is identifiable by the thicker background lines and the oval "o" of 'CENTISIMO' farther from the left frame line. Scott groups this with the redrawn 2 and 5 cent values (Q52-53) issued 1942-1944. Those are easily distinguished from earlier issues by the lettering in the imprint, whereas Q51 has an imprint like that of Q35. Scott lists the year of issue of Q51 as '1955?' and does not list a value. They also list it as having perf. 12.5, but one of mine (and evidently the one pictured here) are perf 11.

The redrawn 1c violet stamp is not included in my Uruguayan specialized catalog, nor in Colnect. Does anyone have a catalog other than Scott that makes any mention of this stamp?

"'That's just it,' said the Hemulen in despair. 'It's finished. There isn't a stamp, or an error that I haven't collected. Not one. What shall I do now? ''Nature study!' declares the Hemulen. 'I shall botanize'. "
